Vinted seller fee calculator
Estimate a US Vinted sale both ways: what you keep (0% seller commission on a standard sale) and what the buyer pays after Buyer Protection ($0.70 + 5% of item price). Factor free-shipping absorption and optional bumps — the costs that actually hit sellers. Nothing is uploaded.
Breakdown
How the numbers work
Vinted’s US model is the inverse of most resale apps: the seller commission on a standard sale is $0. The platform’s published US fee is a Buyer Protection charge the buyer pays on top of your list price.
- Seller side (standard sale): no listing fee and no % commission in the US Price List. Your wallet credit for the item is the agreed item price. Optional Item Bumps are seller-paid; the fee is shown before you complete the bump purchase.
- Buyer Protection (US Price List): $0.70 + 5% of the item price agreed between buyer and seller — excluding shipping, additional costs, and taxes. Added at checkout.
- Shipping: when you offer integrated or custom shipping, the buyer usually pays the shipping amount shown. If you advertise free shipping, you still pay the label — that absorption is the main way a “0% fee” sale can still cost you money.
- Cheap-item sticker shock: on a $10 item, BP = $0.70 + $0.50 = $1.20 (12% of item) before shipping. On a $100 item, BP = $5.70 (5.7% of item). Buyers see that on top of your price.
Unique angle vs thin “0% fee” SERP calculators: every run shows seller keep and buyer total, free-shipping absorption vs buyer-paid shipping side-by-side, optional bump cost, BP share of buyer total, and the reverse list price so buyer total (item + BP, before shipping) matches a target checkout feel — not just “you keep 100%.”
Example: $40 list, buyer pays $5.99 shipping, no bump. Seller commission $0. Buyer Protection $0.70 + $2.00 = $2.70. Buyer total ≈ $48.69. You keep $40.00 before product cost (shipping net $0 if buyer covers your $5.99 label).
Example: same $40 with free shipping and a $5.99 label you pay → keep $34.01 before product cost; buyer total = $40 + $2.70 BP = $42.70 (no ship line).

FAQ
Does Vinted really take 0% from sellers?
On a standard US sale, the published Price List does not charge sellers a commission or listing fee — the buyer pays Buyer Protection. Optional promotions (Item Bumps) are separate seller-paid services with fees shown before payment. Shipping you choose to absorb still comes out of your pocket.
Is Buyer Protection deducted from my payout?
No. Per the US Price List it is charged to the buyer at checkout ($0.70 + 5% of item price, excluding shipping/tax). Help notes the fee is mandatory on Buy-now orders and typically 5% + $0.70, and can vary by item/bundle factors — use the checkout quote as the live number.
Why model free shipping if fees are $0?
Because free shipping is the common way sellers “pay” for conversion on a zero-commission app. If your label is $5.99 and you offer free shipping, your keep drops by $5.99 even though Vinted’s commission is still $0. The compare rows show paid-ship vs free-ship keep on every price.
What is the “list price so buyer total ≈ target” row?
Solve for list price P such that P + ($0.70 + 0.05×P) equals your target buyer subtotal before shipping: P = (target − 0.70) / 1.05. Useful when you want the checkout line (item + BP) near a round number buyers will accept.
Do bumps change my sale commission?
No. A bump is a prepaid visibility add-on. Enter whatever fee Vinted shows you before purchase; we subtract it from keep as a seller cost. Duration and pricing are shown in-app and can change with item price.
Is this exact to my settled payout?
No. It is a planning estimate from the US Price List and Help articles (fetched 2026-09-30). Taxes, currency, bundle BP variation, custom vs integrated shipping, and promotion prices can differ. Match the in-app checkout / wallet before you price inventory.
