Sideline Swap seller fee calculator
Estimate a SidelineSwap sale: 12% on your first five sales then 10%, clamped at $1.99 min / $100 max, plus 2.9% + $0.30 processing, optional bump +3%, and the list price you need for a target net. Nothing is uploaded.
Breakdown
How the numbers work
SidelineSwap charges only when an item sells. Listing is free. Fees are based on the item price — not on buyer-paid shipping or sales tax.
- Seller fee: 12% of the item for your first five sales, then 10% from sale six onward.
- Clamp: seller fee floors at $1.99 and caps at $100 per sale.
- Payment processing: 2.9% of the item + $0.30, paid out to the processor.
- Bump (optional): +3% only if the item sells within seven days of a manual bump. Auto-bumps (Sideline Pro) do not trigger this fee. Selling more than seven days after the last manual bump also skips it.
- Net (before your costs): item − seller fee − bump − processing.
Unique angle vs thin SidelineSwap fee pages: every run shows new (12%) vs established (10%) keep side-by-side, the exact item prices where the $1.99 min and $100 max cliffs hit for your tier, optional bump, and reverse list-for-target-net — not just “12% + processing.”
Example (matches Help math): item $100, new seller, no bump → seller fee $12.00 + processing $3.20 = $15.20 → keep $84.80. Same item after five sales → seller $10.00 + processing $3.20 → keep $86.80.
Cliff anchors (selected tier): at 12%, the $1.99 min applies below about $16.58; the $100 max applies from about $833.33. At 10%, those anchors are about $19.90 and $1,000.

FAQ
When do I drop from 12% to 10%?
After your fifth completed sale. Sales 0–5 use 12%; from sale six onward the seller fee is 10%. The compare rows always show both keeps so you can see what the sixth sale is worth.
What are the $1.99 and $100 clamps?
The seller fee (the 12% or 10% line only — not processing or bump) cannot be less than $1.99 or more than $100 on a single sale. Low-priced gear can hit the floor; high-ticket gear (e.g. ~$833+ at 12%, ~$1,000+ at 10%) hits the cap and your effective seller-fee % falls.
Does shipping go into the fee base?
No, by default. Help: buyer pays shipping (unless you offer free/discounted shipping) and sales tax; neither factors into seller fees or is deducted from earnings as a marketplace percentage. If you use a SidelineSwap prepaid label, that label cost can still come out of your balance as a separate shipping line — enter it under “Your shipping / packing cost” for profit.
When does the +3% bump fee apply?
Only when the item sells within seven days of a manual bump. Auto-bumps do not add the 3%. Selling more than seven days after the last manual bump also skips it. Toggle “+3%” only when you expect that path.
What is “List price to hit target net”?
It solves for item price so price − clamped seller fee − optional bump − (2.9%×price + $0.30) equals your target net. Useful when you know what you need to walk away with and want a competitive list price.
Is this exact to my settled payout?
No. It is a planning estimate from SidelineSwap Help (fetched 2026-10-02). Refunds, return labels, insurance, shipping discounts, and fee-table changes can differ. Match the live balance before you set inventory prices.
