How the numbers work

For a typical US GOAT sale (Fee Policy last updated August 1, 2026):

Example: rating 90+, $200 sale, prepaid shipping, cash-out on. Commission 9.5% = $19.00 + seller fee $5.00 → earnings $176.00. Cash-out 2.9% of $176 = $5.10. Total fees $29.10. You keep $170.90 before product cost. Same sale with drop-off ($0 seller fee) keeps $175.75 after cash-out.

This tool models standard consignment selling. GOAT Clean uses a different commission schedule. Confirm your live quote in the GOAT seller flow.

FAQ

Where do I see my seller rating?

GOAT tracks seller rating from cancellations and successful sales. Fee Policy: start at 90; −10 per cancellation, +2 per successful sale. Your commission tier follows that score. Check your seller account or GOAT Support if the quote looks higher than 9.5%.

Is the cash-out fee on the sale price or on earnings?

On earnings after commission and seller fee. GOAT Fee Policy applies 2.9% when funds are deposited through ACH or PayPal. Leave money on GOAT and the cash-out line stays $0 in this calculator.

Drop-off vs prepaid — which is cheaper?

US drop-off seller fee is $0; prepaid shipping is $5. Drop-off saves the flat $5 if a location is available to you. The $5 is separate from any carrier cost you might otherwise pay yourself.

How is this different from StockX?

StockX Verified Marketplace uses seller levels (9%→7%) plus a fixed 3% processing and a US $5 transaction minimum. GOAT uses rating-based commission, a shipping-method seller fee, and cash-out only when you withdraw. Run both calculators on the same ask price before you list.

Is this exact to the penny GOAT will take?

No. It is an estimate from the published Fee Policy (2026-08-01). Promotions, GOAT Clean, verification issues, reserves, and regional seller fees can change the payout. Confirm on goat.com/fees and in your listing quote.
