How the numbers work
For North America brands, Faire’s Help Center states it is free to join. Costs on each order are commission (when Faire connects you via the marketplace) plus a payment processing fee based on payout speed.
- Marketplace first order: 15% of order subtotal + a one-time $10 new customer fee.
- Marketplace reorder: 15% of order subtotal (no $10).
- Faire Direct: 0% commission on orders from retailers you bring via your personalized Faire Direct link.
- Payment processing (all order types, including Faire Direct): next day 3.5% + $0.30, 30-day 2.4% + $0.30, or 60-day 1.9% + $0.30.
Official payout formula: payout = order subtotal + shipping reimbursement − commission − payment processing fee. This calculator applies the $10 new customer fee as an additional deduction on first marketplace orders (Faire’s “on top of” the 15% rate).
Example: $200 wholesale subtotal, $20 shipping reimbursement, marketplace first order, 30-day payout → commission $30 + $10 new fee + processing $5.10 = $45.10 fees → estimated payout $174.90. Same order as a reorder → payout $184.90. As Faire Direct → payout $214.90.

FAQ
Is commission charged on shipping?
No. Faire’s formula commissions the order subtotal (wholesale item cost minus brand-funded promotions). Shipping reimbursement is added to your payout separately and is not part of the commission base.
What is the $10 new customer fee?
On the first marketplace order from a retailer who discovered you on Faire, brands based in North America pay $10 once on top of the 15% commission. Future reorders from that retailer are 15% only. Replacement and split orders do not get another $10, per Faire Help.
Do Faire Direct orders still pay processing?
Yes. Faire Direct is 0% commission, but payment processing still applies at your selected payout speed (3.5%, 2.4%, or 1.9% + $0.30).
Does payout speed change commission?
No. Payout speed only changes the payment processing rate. Commission stays 15% / 15%+$10 / 0% based on order type.
Is this for brands outside North America?
No. This tool uses North America brand rates. Outside North America, Faire publishes a different first-order structure (standard 15% plus a one-time 10% referral fee on the first marketplace order, i.e. 25% first order). Use Faire’s non–North America Help article for those rates.
Is this exact to the penny Faire will take?
No. It is an estimate from Faire’s published North America Help article. Brand-funded promotions, Ship with Faire vs self-fulfill, Insider Partnership shipping, returns, and portal overrides can change the real payout. Confirm the payout summary on the order detail page in your brand portal.
