Breakdown
How the numbers work
Listing on Curtsy is free. When an item sells, Curtsy takes its selling fee and the card processor's cut, and if you offered free shipping, the label too.
- Selling fee: $1.00 plus 5% of the item price.
- Processing: 2.9% of the amount the buyer pays by card. With buyer-pays shipping, that includes the shipping, so you pay 2.9% on it.
- Free shipping: the buyer pays only the item price, and Curtsy deducts a set label price based on the weight you pick, from $4.95 under 0.25 lb up to $12.95 under 4 lb.
- Imported listings: items pulled in from another app keep that app's fees, unless the listing offers free shipping, which moves it to Curtsy's $1 + 5% plan.
- You keep: item price − selling fee − processing − label (free shipping only).
The $1 flat part matters most on cheap items. On a $10 sale it alone is 10% of the price, so the selling fee is 15% before processing. By $100 it's down to 1%, and the selling fee is 6%.
Example from Curtsy's help page: a $100 item with no shipping charge pays a $6.00 selling fee and $2.90 processing, so you keep $91.10. Offer free shipping on a sweater under 1 lb and the $7.95 label also comes out, leaving $83.15.
The "free-shipping price that keeps the same" row solves for the list price where free shipping pays you exactly what buyer-pays shipping would. Curtsy says about 60% of its listings offer free shipping and those sell about twice as fast, so that row tells you how much to price in.
FAQ
How much does Curtsy take from a sale?
A selling fee of $1 plus 5% of the item price, plus 2.9% card processing that goes to Stripe. On a $100 item that's $8.90 total, so you keep $91.10. If you offer free shipping, the label price for your item's weight is also taken out.
Is Curtsy's fee still $2.95 or 15–20%?
Not according to Curtsy's own help pages and Terms as of 2026-10-07. Both list $1 + 5% plus 2.9% processing. Some third-party calculators still show older tiered numbers.
Should I offer free shipping on Curtsy?
It costs you the label, but buyers see a lower total and Curtsy says those items sell about twice as fast. Use the compare rows to see the dollar gap, and the matching-price row to see how much to raise your price to cover it.
What fee do imported listings pay?
Curtsy says imported items keep the fees of the app they came from. Switching an imported listing to free shipping moves it to Curtsy's $1 + 5% plus 2.9% plan. Pick "Imported" and enter your original app's fee to compare the two. This page treats the original app's fee as all-in and adds no extra processing, since Curtsy doesn't publish that detail.
Are there fees to cash out?
Standard transfers (2–3 business days) are free when you cash out $10 or more. Instant transfers to a debit card have a small fee that Curtsy doesn't list on its help page, so it isn't included. Taking your payout as Curtsy store credit avoids transfers entirely.
Is this my exact payout?
It's a planning estimate. Curtsy shows your exact earnings when you post the item, and offers, promotions you fund, refunds, sales tax handling, or fee changes can move the final number.
