    How the numbers work

Intake. COMC charges a processing fee for every card before it's listed, whether it sells or not. The rate depends on the service level and whether the card is raw, graded or oversized. Standard has a $65 minimum per submission and Select a $3 minimum, so a small Standard batch costs more per card than the headline $0.65. The calculator spreads the minimum over your batch.

    ServiceRawGradedOversizedMinimum
    Standard (16 weeks)$0.65$1.25$3.50$65
    Select (4 weeks)$1.00$1.50$4.00$3
    Elite (2 weeks)$2.00$2.50$5.00none

Selling. A fixed-price sale costs 5% of the price it sold for. The rest arrives as COMC store credit, which you can spend on COMC straight away. The buyer pays a per-item shipping charge on top of your asking price ($0.50 raw, $1.00 Elite or oversized, $2.00 graded). That goes to COMC, not to you. Auctions charge different rates:

    Auction typeFeePaid as
Store Credit (on COMC)4%, $0.99 minCredit
eBay Live (on COMC)5%, $2 minCredit
    Cash (on COMC) / Direct-to-Cash8% + $5 under $1,000; 5% at $1,000+Cash, no cash-out fee
    Direct-to-eBay Live8% + $5 under $1,000; 5% at $1,000+Credit

Cashing out. Converting credit to cash costs 10%. A cash-out under $250 also costs $1, and a mailed check $5. Cash out in bigger chunks and the $1 stops mattering. If you spend the credit on more cards instead, the 10% never applies.

Storage. A card's first 90 days are free. After that a listed card priced over $0.75 costs 1¢ a month. Cards listed at $50.01 or more also pay 1¢ per $1,000 of list price per day from day one.

Example: a raw $10 card in a 200-card Standard submission sells at full asking price after two months. Intake is $0.65. COMC keeps $0.50 (5%), so $9.50 lands as credit. Cashing that out to PayPal in $100 chunks takes 10% plus a share of the $1 fee, leaving $8.46. After intake you net $7.81, or $4.81 profit on a $3 card. Fees take 21.9% of the sale. Sold yourself on eBay with $1.50 shipping and 7% tax, the same card nets $8.22 after a $2.03 eBay fee and $1.25 postage.

    FAQ

How much does COMC take when a card sells?

On a fixed-price sale, on COMC or through COMC's eBay cross-listing, COMC keeps 5% of your asking price and puts the other 95% in your account as store credit. Turning that credit into cash costs another 10%, so a card that sells for $100 nets $95 in credit or about $85.50 in cash. The intake fee you paid to list the card comes on top.

What is the COMC cash-out fee?

10% of the credit you convert to cash through PayPal, ACH, wire or eCheck. Cash-outs under $250 also cost $1 in store credit, and a mailed check costs $5 in the US ($15 outside it). COMC's own examples work out as cash = (credit − $1) × 0.9, so $112.12 of credit becomes $100. International users pay slightly more than 10%. That isn't modeled here.

Which COMC submission level should I use?

Standard is cheapest per card but has a $65 minimum, so it only makes sense for 100+ cards. Standard and Select cards can't be listed above $100 without a $2 upgrade fee, and COMC suggests Elite for cards worth over $50. The "Lowest price that breaks even" line shows the asking price a card needs before consigning it is worth the intake fee.

Are COMC auctions cheaper than fixed price?

Store Credit auctions (4%, $0.99 minimum) cost less than a 5% fixed-price sale on cards above about $20, but pay in credit. Cash and Direct-to-Cash auctions skip the 10% cash-out fee but charge 8% + $5 under $1,000. Against a fixed-price sale you cash out (5% then 10%), they only come out ahead above roughly $50–$77, depending on the intake fee you'd otherwise pay. Watch the $1,000 line: a card that hammers at $999.99 nets $914.99, while one at $1,000 nets $950. The minimum auction fee is charged even if the card doesn't sell.

    Does COMC charge storage fees?

Yes, 1¢ per card per month for cards listed with an asking price over $0.75, starting after each card's first 90 days. Cards priced at $0.75 or less, and cards not for sale, are stored free. Cards listed at $50.01 or more also pay an Enhanced Security Fee of 1¢ per $1,000 of list price per day, with no grace period.
