Breakdown
How the numbers work
Chairish takes a commission on the sale amount (the item price). Per Chairish’s Help Center, that excludes buyer-paid shipping, taxes/duties, and card/bank fees — so this calculator uses the sale price you enter as the commission base.
- Consignor (1–9 active listings, free): 40% on marketplace sales.
- Professional (10+ listings, free): 30% on marketplace sales.
- Premium ($49/mo or $539/yr): 25% on vintage/used; 30% on newly made / made-to-order.
- Plus ($99/mo or $1,089/yr): 22% on vintage/used; 30% on newly made.
- Elite ($149/mo or $1,639/yr, invite): vintage uses a cumulative sliding scale — 20% on the first $2,500, 12% on amounts from $2,501–$25,000, and 3% above $25,000. Newly made stays 30% flat.
- Chairish Auctions: most plans pay 20% (Elite uses the same tiered scale for participating shops). Not modeled: Platinum (0% on auctions).
Example: a $1,000 vintage piece on Professional. Commission = 30% × $1,000 = $300. You keep $700 before product and packing. Same item on Plus (vintage) is 22% = $220 commission — you keep $780 before the $99 plan fee.
Elite high-ticket example (Help Center tiers): a $15,000 vintage sale → 20% × $2,500 = $500 + 12% × $12,500 = $1,500 → $2,000 commission, keep $13,000 (87%).

FAQ
Does Chairish charge commission on shipping?
No for the standard definition. Chairish’s Help Center defines Sale Amount as the sales price received from the buyer, excluding shipping/delivery costs paid by the buyer, taxes, and transaction/bank fees. This tool commissions the sale price field only.
What is the difference between vintage and newly made?
On Premium, Plus, Elite (and Platinum), vintage/used/one-of-a-kind listings get the plan’s discounted rate. Newly made and made-to-order stay at 30% even on paid plans. Consignor and Professional charge one flat rate on all marketplace products (40% / 30%).
How does Elite’s tiered commission work?
It is cumulative per item: 20% on the first $2,500 of the sale amount, 12% on the portion from $2,501 through $25,000, and 3% on anything above $25,000. A $2,000 sale is simply 20% ($400). A $15,000 sale is $500 + $1,500 = $2,000.
Is the $49 / $99 / $149 plan fee included?
Only if you check “Spread monthly plan fee.” That divides the monthly (or annual÷12) membership by your expected sales count and adds a per-sale share — useful for break-even, not an official Chairish line item on the invoice for that sale.
When do I get paid?
Chairish’s consign page states payment is via PayPal after delivery and the 48-hour return window. Elite advertises expedited payment terms. Timing is not modeled here.
Is this exact to the penny Chairish will take?
No. It is an estimate from Chairish’s published Selling Plans & Commission Rate Overview and Consign with Us plan prices. Promoted Listings, private sales tools, returns, permitted reductions, and auction house rules can change the real payout. Confirm the fee preview in your Chairish seller dashboard before you price.
