    How the numbers work

Fixed price. Alt takes one percentage of the card's final sale price. The rate depends on which band the whole price falls in and on your Rewards tier, so a sale just under a band edge pays the higher rate on everything. Buyers pay no fee and, because Alt's vault is in Delaware, no sales tax. Your card has to be graded by PSA, BGS, BVG, SGC or CGC and stored in the Alt Vault before you can list it.

Auctions. You pay no seller fee. The winner pays the hammer price plus a 20% buyer's premium, and Alt pays you the hammer times a bonus of 104% to 115%, set by the value of the whole lot when Alt received it and by your tier. This page turns what a buyer pays all-in back into a hammer price so you can line it up against a fixed-price sale.

Vault fee. A one-time $5 per card at intake for raw cards, cards from unsupported graders, and slabs with an Alt Value under $50. It isn't refunded when the card sells.

Example: a PSA slab worth $240 at Base tier. Listed at $240, Alt takes 14%, $33.60, and pays you $206.40, which is $56.40 profit on a $150 card. Listed at $250, the fee drops to 9%, $22.50, and you get $227.50: $21.10 more for a $10 higher price. In an auction where the buyer pays $240 all-in, the hammer is $200 and your 104% bonus pays you $208.00. The same $240 card on eBay, with $5 shipping and 7% tax, costs $35.13 in fees and clears $205.37 after postage.

    FAQ

What are Alt's seller fees in 2026?

On Alt's Fixed Price marketplace the seller fee is a percentage of the final sale price, set by price band and your Alt Rewards tier. Base sellers pay 14% from $1 to $249, 9% from $250 to $7,499, 7% from $7,500 to $9,999 and 5% at $10,000 and up. Silver pays 12/8/6/5%, Gold 10/7/5/5% and Black 9/6/4/4%. Auctions have no seller fee: you get the hammer price plus a 4% to 15% bonus, and the buyer pays a 20% premium. Buyers pay no fee on fixed-price purchases.

Why should I price an Alt listing at $250 instead of $240?

The fee rate applies to the whole price, not just the part above a band edge. At Base tier a $240 sale pays 14% ($33.60) and you get $206.40. A $250 sale pays 9% ($22.50) and you get $227.50, which is $21.10 more for a $10 higher price. No price from $1 to $249.99 pays you as much as $250 does. The same jump happens at $7,500 and $10,000.

How does the Alt auction seller bonus work?

Alt charges the winning bidder a 20% buyer's premium on the hammer price and shares it with the seller. You receive the hammer price times a bonus percentage set by the lot's submission value when Alt received it and your Rewards tier: Base gets 104% under $1k, 106% for $1k to $5k, up to 115% at $200k and up. If a buyer pays $240 all-in, the hammer is $200 and a Base seller with a lot under $1k receives $208.

How is my Alt Rewards tier decided?

By your quarterly transaction total, including buyer's premium: Base under $25,000, Silver $25,000 to $99,999, Gold $100,000 to $299,999 and Black over $300,000. Fixed-price and auction sales both count. A higher tier applies as soon as you reach it, and it carries into the next quarter, but your total resets to zero each quarter.

What other fees can an Alt seller pay?

A one-time $5 vaulting fee per card at intake for raw cards, cards from unsupported graders, and slabs with an Alt Value under $50. Shipping a card out of the vault costs 3% of its Alt Value within 90 days, or 1% capped at $100 after that, and Black members don't pay it. There's no account or subscription fee, no sales tax on Alt sales because the vault is in Delaware, and withdrawals go to your bank by ACH through Stripe. Alt stopped cross-listing on eBay in April 2026.
